Artist's Comments

This was a first demo using the oligraph technique for an upcoming fashion campaign.
It was never published but it convinced the owners to run with the campaign.

Photographed at Greystone Manor - Beverly Hills, Ca in 2003

Shot with a Mamiya RZ67 on Tri-X 220 film
2000W strobe through a 3x4 litedome mounted on a boom to bring the ambiant daylight to -2 stops under the key light.
The image was then printed traditionally on a 16x20 before the oilgraph process was used. More info on that can be found here: [link]

The final print was then reshot, scanned and desaturated. This was the step before the final sepia tone was decided upon.

Impact, and the overexposed look of the face really makes it pop,for personial taste I would like to see a little more info on right, but again thats more of a personial compostion thing.and seeing one foot would give it some grounding for me or a base, seems shes to be floating somewhat. As always though I enjoy your works keep'em coming my friend.

Very haunting image.
She just floats...I like the movement. I seems like she can just reach out and touch the viewer.
