"Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah. He crossed Gilead and Manasseh, passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from there he advanced against the Ammonites. And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD : "If you give the Ammonites into my hands, whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering."...
When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of tambourines. She was an only child." JUDGES 11

Nice. And the detail is pretty killer (no pun.) I want to even test or practice something for this series- just to leave a little tiny part of my soul with it before I leave L.A., which I think will be in about a year, I don't know.
Beautiful. I have been dying to see someone pay attention to this telling story. It was so tragic. Yet she told her father that he had to give her as an offering because of his oath.
The faith and yet sickness of it all is beautiful and saddening. God did none of it. It was the man's fault for saying something so foolish.
But I love the picture, it is emotional and telling. I love the look of confusion on her face, and how you caught her just at the moment that he revealed what he must do. Or at least, that's what I see in the picture. Very beautiful.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
