I often times wish you were...

Beauty comes with a toll
that remains uncounted
but tallied in years

A memory locked in silver
or in flesh
to measure the night against

and to see how far
one has missed the mark

But in this moment
one beholds nothing but this
(or you...)

and time locks away
the painful mirriors of regret

Paris...
And as night fell
the sun sunk into the Seinne
and twilight held its breath
and exhaled through a thousand lamps
along the Champs Elysee

I forgot her name
I forgot everything

until Beauty held
the mirror
once again
to my staggering breath

I like the atmosphere in this. It's got a sense of age to it...like it was taken during the black-outs of WWII.
