CHRISTOPHER LLOYD

This was intended to be used for the promotional poster for Kevin McTurk's project "The Narrative of Victor Karloch"

This along with the first version was the first hybrid I was ever challenged to make. We photographed Christopher at Warner Bros. Studios were he was doing the voice over for the project. The next week, we shot the body of the original puppet along with the skeleton puppets and I made a digital composite of all of them with Christopher's head.

Then a 4x5 negative was produced from which I was able to make the traditional prints for the final oilgraph which is mounted on a wooden panel. If I remember correctly, Kevin filmed the painting process.

Since this technically can't be used for the project, I'm showing it here...

Only to composite Chris' head to the puppet body. From there it was done with traditional photos and oil paint. Thank you...

Thank you and yes. Now, I do some underpainting in acrylics depending on the piece, but the final layer is all oil paint...
