Few remember her story let alone her name. The woman who would go to any ends to have a child and carry the line of Judah. No one would have predicted how literally that would become.

The full story is here: [link]

This is an early study for a series dedicated to her.

Beautiful portrait; so simple, yet expressive. I am writing a book on the Judah and Tamar and am interested in using your image for the cover. Obviously, I would credit you. Do you require anything else? Thanks so much -ruthegriffin@yahoo.com

I'm reminded of the music of Peter Gabriel's "Passion" album here, very much. There's the same feeling of antiquity, of alienness of culture (to north america), of passion, of heroism, of strength.

I love it that you've chosen a woman as the focal point of your picture. Most of that old testament is so strongly male, and yet women have always been the other half of everything significant in the bible.

She is very beautiful. Please pass along my sincere compliments to your model for this picture.

Your work always seems to evoke a part of my spirituality I thought I had been steadily leaving behind.

As a cradle Catholic, I had moved on to enjoy more secular belief, and have delved into many different "religions" to define myself. While I still follow other paths, I have found a new closeness with my birth religion and beliefs due to your beautiful works.

Your work not only moves the soul, but it thrives and it teaches in very small amounts, things that were never spoken of when I was a child. It brings a new interest to a tired belief.

Thank you for sharing the art that is within you.

This comment means more to me than you know...but maybe you do. I can't thank you enough for sharing that. When days come when I get discouraged, I am going to read this. Thank you for reminding me why I do what I do....for I often forget

I think I do, because your work means so much to me. It is like opening a part of my soul pu to look at when I view certain pieces of your work!

It is only my pleasure to share my feelings with you (and others) about how your work moves me. I am sure that it moves other people in the same way and they simply sit silently and 'live in the moment'. I on the other hand feel lifted, and consequently have to raise up my voice and tell you that you've done something fantastic.

I have kept this comment for several months now, and have looked over my favorites of yours several times, and the work still moves me. One day I will be able to buy one of your images I hope, so I may be inspired like this and feel this wonderful each time I lay eyes upon it.

Thank you for allowing me to help just a little when you feel discouranged. Never forget that you touch people deeply with the things you do!
