He took her for his concubine. A wife but not wife. A lover but without love.
And leaving him, took her back. But in the taking took her too late for journeying. She begged for Jerusalem to go, but in those days Jerusalem was not of their people. So to a city of their people he dragged her. But their people proved otherwise.

The old man took them to his home and when the mob descended demanding strange flesh, he proved his courage. Saved himself and threw her to the night.

And in those days there was no king
and everyone did what was right in their own eyes

In the story she is never named.
But now she has a face.

From the ongoing series IN THE TIME OF THE JUDGES

With none to love her enough to mourn her passing, I wonder if she knows we weep for her still.

... it was at that moment that she knew her life would never be the same ... she had to let the world know of her discovery ...

My heart is drawn to this story with every panel you complete. My heart is wrenched from it's comfortable place and thrust into this reality, to see how closely we live to this time now. How little conscience we have now, and how little it was back then. Is this a case of history repeating itself I must ask myself.

Wow. The emotions are so intense and I feel as if I'm witnessing a crime. It makes me want to act but I don't know how! It's wonderful to experience so much from an image. I feel like every time I see your work I want to do what you do and I loooove watching your youtube videos. I always feel like I come away learning something about myself and you. It's such a wonderful thing to view your art.

That is such a sad narrative... you've illustrated it beautifully.
