History The Stations of the Cross are the fourteen traditional panels depicting the final moments of Christ's life starting with his condemnation to death at the hands of Pilate to his crucifixion and burial in the tomb. Over the years pilgrims would go to Jerusalem and walk the route Jesus took on his way to the cross, stopping at moments along the way to remember, reflect and pray. The Stations began appearing in the middle ages when pilgrims were forbidden to enter Jeruselem when it was occupied by the Turks. They made the Stations as a way to remember in Spirit back in their own countries. Long considered only a Catholic tradition, they are now finding a popularity across all traditions. These are my versions. This journey started in February of 2005 and the last of the Fourteen was completed April 4th.
Thank you so much...and oddly enough no Christian publisher will touch it. All of the majors and even the big Catholic publishers all passed. Much of it has to do with the fact that Christian publishers don't publish art books or they don't know how to market it...or it's just simply way too much for them.
I did however self publish it for the time being on blurb (which includes the story of their making as well as the accompanying prose) [link]
So...thank you again. Been a bit of a frustrating journey in this respect...
First...thank you for all of your wonderful comments. And yes, it's true. I got close with Baker publishing, but in the end they passed along with many others. As I wrote, Christian publishers don't seem to publish art books. Now, had I written a book on the Stations, then I'd have a better shot.
The Catholic publisher I was working with eventually passed because they didn't know how to market it. Which I found a bit baffling. But also even though 'they' loved it, they believe that this series was too much for their audience. Too real, too confrontational.
Yep...So now I'm doing the book of Judges to lighten things up...
Hmm, I will see if I can talk to someone. Are you under 18 by any chance? There is a publisher I met who specializes in devotionals written by youth for youth. I can see if I can find the books they gave me...

Heh....thanks. I am so not under 18 however... Now it's not to say that the images from the series have not been published pretty widely in books and magazines but a full on coffee table book is a whole other animal...
On blurb.com....but quite honestly I don't count that as publishing. Though I have had a number of these images appear in books and on the Christianity Today website. There might just be some larger timing at play though...
