Station Fifteen
The Resurrection

Traditionally the Stations end with the Fourteenth, but my feeling is that they lose their deeper meaning without the fifteenth.
Picturing the Resurrection was difficult without slipping into cliche. So I decided to depict the moment of the women finding the empty tomb and the angel declaring what had happened. According to the account the angel said a number of things: 'Fear Not' (because angelic appearances were apparently terrifying) 'He's not here, he is risen' and 'go tell the desciples'

I decided to depict all those moments at one time.

This is the final piece of the Stations. It was created in ritual performance April 22nd in Asbury Kentucky as the culmination of the series. I wrote about it in my journal entry: [link]

Your work never ceases to amaze me. It's like you are a vessel for channeling the divine and the untouchable. You make the invisible visible and just by viewing your work we touch something infinite and astounding.

I love the depth and the rustic colors. The sky is on fire and the earth is singing in rejoice...
