The background story to this image, I previously wrote and here it is....

"My friend Dee calls and asks if I could take a portrait of her father.
He was in the late stages of Parkinsons and the end was close.
He could hardly speak, the disease wiping away his once strong voice.
And she asked if there was any way I could find a way for him to be in my series In the Time of the Judges.
I was really uncertain. Nothing came to mind and no scenes had been prepared to shoot.
But we got him dressed in one of the costumes anyway.
Then I saw it.

He was Joshua...

The moment at the end of his life where he gives the greatest of his speeches to his people about who to follow.
And there it was. An image of a man who could not speak, which was about one of the greatest of speeches."

I was 63 when you posted this. Now I am 71. How will those who knew me remember me?


As for myself, words I wrote a few years back...


I will always remember...

  • I will always remember that I am one finite human being, with assorted weaknesses, and that's ok.

  • I will always remember that I will not live forever on this earth, and that's ok, too.

  • I will always remember that Jesus loves me, and that is enough.
